‘Xiaomi Pad 6’ Upcoming Tablet – Specifications, And Everything We Know So Far

The ‘Xiaomi Pad 5’ took the market by storm with its release in August 2021. The tablet got positive responses in all departments, ranging from specifications to price. According to reports, Xiaomi is likely working on and planning to release the 6 Series in 2023. There will be two variants available: the ‘Xiaomi Pad 6’ and ‘Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro,’ with the latter only available in China. Let’s take a look at some key specifications that have emerged as a result of the Xiaomiui report.

Xiaomi Pad 6 Specifications

The expected specifications of the ‘Xiaomi Pad 6’ are quite intriguing and promise whole new possibilities.

Body Design: The ‘Xiaomi Pad 6’ is expected to have a solid aluminum frame with a glass front and aluminum back. It will be launched in three colors—black, white, and green and is expected to be dustproof and water-resistant. With a dimension of 254.7 x 166.3 x 6.9 mm, the device will weigh 511 g, which is slightly on the heavier side. The device will also come with a stylus and keyboard support.

Display: The ‘Xiaomi Pad 6’ will have a large 11-inch IPS LCD display. The bezels sit perfectly with the screen, which supports 1 billion colors, Dolby Vision, and HDR10. The device is expected to have a screen-to-body ratio of around 82.8% and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Xiaomi Pad 6 will come with a screen resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels and also support multi-touch. With a 16:10 aspect ratio and a pixel density of around 275 PPI, other features that the device will offer are Reading Mode, True Tone, Wide Color Gamut, and Sunshine Screen 2.0. The Xiaomi Pad 6 is expected to provide a stunning visual display and will support video formats like MKV, MP4, WEBM, WMV, ASF, and 3GP.

Technical: The ‘Xiaomi Pad 6’ is expected to perform even better than its predecessor and will come with the latest Android 13 OS, 64-bit architecture, and the Snapdragon 870 chipset. This chipset is extremely powerful and can enhance your gaming and multitasking performance. Most intensive games can be played at the highest setting, and browsing, streaming, reading, and many other activities can be done simultaneously. The device will feature a 3.2 GHz CPU, an Octa Core Processor, and an Adreno 730 GPU, which Qualcomm claims will provide 30% better performance than the Adreno 660. The device will not have a card slot and will have a storage type of UFS 3.2. With a RAM of 6 GB and storage of 128 GB, it is expected that users will not face any storage or performance lag issues.

Camera: The rear camera will have a 13 MP lens with an f/2 aperture, similar to the Xiaomi Pad 5, and will have an image resolution of 4128 x 3096 pixels. Now the rear camera is pretty average, but it will serve its purpose, as it is rare for someone to use a tablet camera for photography. The ‘Xiaomi Pad 6’ will be able to record videos in 4K at 30 fps UHD and 1080p at 30 fps FHD. Along with the LED flashlight, features like digital zoom, touch-to-focus, HDR, Panorama, auto flash, and face detection are also present in the device. The front camera has an 8 MP lens with an f/2 aperture and is a bit basic but can assist you seamlessly in video calling. Video recording can be done in 1080p at 30 fps in FHD.

Battery And Connectivity: The ‘Xiaomi Pad 6’ will come with an 8720 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery that will support 33 W power charging. The device is expected to provide decent battery backup, which can easily surpass one day with a single charge. The device lacks GPS, NFC, GPRS, and EDGE but has WLAN 802.11 and Bluetooth 5.1.

Miscellaneous Features: The ‘Xiaomi Pad 6,’ like its predecessor, will not have cellular connectivity, which is a bit of a downside. This means that whenever you go out, you must either find a Wi-Fi hotspot nearby or share a hotspot from your mobile phone. The device does not have a 3.5 mm audio jack or a radio, but it does have four stereo speakers, which are expected to provide an impressive sound experience. The music formats this device will support are MP3, FLAC, APE, AAC, OGG, WAV, WMA, AMR, and AWB. The fingerprint sensor is absent in the Xiaomi Pad 6, but it has all the other necessary sensors, which include a gyroscope, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, hall sensor, and acceleration sensor.

Wrapping Up

Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the launch date of this tablet, but reports suggest that it may be available in the market by March or April 2023. The expected price of the ‘Xiaomi Pad 6’ will be somewhere between CNY 3200 ($458) and CNY 3840 ($549) and can provide steep competition to premium brands like Samsung, Lenovo, and Amazon.
