10 Characters Rumored To Appear In ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ And ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’

“Avengers: Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” are the two upcoming movies every fan has their eyes on. Widespread speculation says that even though the two movies are supposedly going to be a retread of “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame,” there’s one thing that will be definitely different. Instead of the new team of Avengers using time travel, they will travel across the multiverse to recruit heroes from other live-action Marvel properties. As a result, rumors are flying around about various heroes who will come from the MCU’s past and Marvel’s multiverse in “Avengers: Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” to help fight Kang. So here are the rumors about the ten characters that are heavily speculated to return in the two-part Avengers movies.

Tony Stark

Since the moment Tony Stark/Iron Man sacrificed his life to save the universe in “Avengers: Endgame,” fans have been clamoring for his return. There’s speculation that we will see him again in the upcoming “Iron Heart” Disney+ series, but that seems to be limited to a cameo appearance. In Marvel Comics, Tony Stark is the AI who guides Riri Williams on her superhero journey. He is also the one who comes up with the superhero moniker Iron Heart for her. Even if the “Iron Heart” show adapts this aspect from the comics, we still won’t get to see Tony Stark in the flesh. However, there’s one project that can bring him back to his glory. Secret Wars can bring Tony Stark in from another universe so that he can help save the universe from Kang.

The Marvels

The Twitter account Marvel Updates alleges that Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau will be in “Avengers: Secret Wars.” We already know that the trio will be teaming up for “The Marvels,” so it makes sense that three of the most powerful beings in the MCU will also step in to defend the universe from Kang.

Jean Grey

The Marvel Updates Twitter account also recently revealed that Sophie Turner would return as Jean Grey in Secret Wars. We last saw Jean Grey in “X-Men: Dark Phoenix.” At the end of the film, she sacrifices herself to save the world and becomes a being beyond humanity. It remains to be seen if she will appear with her Phoenix powers in the upcoming Avengers film.

Black Panther And She-Hulk

It has been rumored that Shuri’s Black Panther and Jennifer Walters’ She-Hulk will appear in “Avengers: Kang Dynasty.” This isn’t exactly surprising since we know that the two are speculated to be a part of Sam Wilson’s New Avengers team in “Captain America: New World Order.” Also, every MCU hero will probably have to be in attendance if they want to defeat Kang.

Spider-Man And Wolverine

As per reputed Marvel scooper MyTimeToShineHello, we will see Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man team up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in “Avengers: Secret Wars.” Since Secret Wars is a Marvel multiverse-spanning project, the two characters can meet and help the Avengers to fight Kang. But before that, we will see Hugh Jackman team up with Wade Wilson in “Deadpool 3.” Also, fans will be delighted to see Maguire and Jackman teaming up since no one wants to let go of the versions of their respective characters for now.

Fox’s Fantastic Four

A previous leak had revealed that Marvel boss Kevin Feige was looking forward to giving the Fox “Fantastic Four” and “X-Men” actors a great farewell before ushering in the MCU versions of their characters. As such, it makes sense that Fox’s “Fantastic Four” movie actors like Jessica Alba and Ioan Gruffudd will return in Secret Wars as Sue Storm and Reed Richards.

Human Torch And Captain America

In Fox’s “Fantastic Four” duology, Chris Evans appeared as the character Human Torch/ Johnny Storm. In the MCU, he played Captain America/Steve Rogers. In light of this, a new rumor states that Evans will return to play both characters in Secret Wars. If Robert Downey Jr. returns to play Tony Stark again, then it isn’t far-fetched to assume that Chris Evans can join in too. However, the question is: will Captain America be the one who now resides with Peggy Carter in the past? Or one who is the hero of another Earth?

The Scarlet Witch

New fan theories say that Elizabeth Olsen will return as the Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff in “Avengers: Kang Dynasty.” We last saw Wanda in “Doctor Strange 2.” At the end of the movie, a pile of rubble falls on her, and she “dies.” However, we can see a red light still shining underneath that rubble. As such, it’s possible that she’s alive and will return to a future project like Kang Dynasty. Also, with Marvel Studios reportedly planning a Scarlet Witch solo project, we are hedging toward her being alive.

Captain Carter

Hayley Atwell’s Captain Carter (Peggy Carter) was a hit among fans when she first appeared in the “What If…?” animated show. Then her live-action appearance in “Doctor Strange 2” further cemented her status as a fan favorite. Unfortunately, the Scarlet Witch killed her in the film. However, new speculation from the Marvel Updates Twitter account suggests that she will be back in “Avengers: Secret Wars.” Maybe we will finally get to see Captain America and Captain Carter fight together.

Thanos

Last but not least, MCU scooper Marvel Updates mentions that Josh Brolin will be back as Thanos in “Avengers: Secret Wars.” Maybe Kang will help him accomplish his goal this time, and vice versa. It will be interesting to see how many of these cameos actually happen.
