4 Things Revealed In The New ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania’ Trailer

The second trailer for “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania” has dropped, and Twitter is busy analyzing it for new information. The trailer features extensive footage from the first one, and it also reiterates the same themes. But there are four main pieces of information revealed in the latest one. Let us talk about them.

Scott Lang’s Chances Of Winning Against Kang Are Slim

The first trailer of “Ant-Man 3” featured Kang saying that he had killed Scott before. The new trailer reinforces that sentiment brutally. We see Kang punching and kicking Scott Lang. The hero is seen bloodied and mangled, but Kang doesn’t even have a scratch on his face. This shows just how powerful he is. So, it looks like the rumors about Scott dying in the film are true. However, there’s a chance that our hero will prevail over the villain.

After all, when Kang says that Scott can’t win against him, our hero says that he doesn’t need to win. He just has to make sure that both of them lose. So, it looks like Ant-Man has a plan to ensure that Kang doesn’t get what he wants to escape the Quantum Realm. Everyone in Scott’s life has always underestimated him. Everyone from his Avengers teammates to Kang, who said he doesn’t remember killing an Ant-Man, agrees that Scott never got his due. But he has always been able to turn it around and prove them wrong. He might do something similar here to gain the upper hand over Kang. After all, he can shrink to sub-atomic levels. So, if he can somehow enter Kang’s body by shrinking and then enlarging himself, he can take out the villain. However, that isn’t an easy feat because Kang’s armor is solid and doesn’t have any weak points. Also, as the master of time, Kang can reverse time and prevent Ant-Man from entering his body, thus foiling our hero’s plans. It will be interesting to see how Marvel Studios tackles this question.

We Might Get To Know The Origins Of Shang-Chi’s Rings

In the trailer, we see Kang and Scott talking under giant concentric rotating rings overlapping each other. These rings have runes on them that glow ominously. It hasn’t been revealed what these are, but popular speculation says that these are Shang-Chi’s Ten Rings, and that Kang is specifically after them. This is because it was long rumored that the Ten Rings were made by Kang out of 31st-century technology. So they aren’t magic or made of alien technology.

At the beginning of the trailer, we see Kang telling Scott that he will give the Avenger the time he wants in return for something he wants. It looks like the thing he is after is Shang-Chi’s rings. In “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” we learned that the rings send out a signal to someone. We didn’t know to whom it was sending the signals, but it could be Kang in the quantum realm. So maybe the villain will use the rings to escape from the place he is trapped in. After all, we saw how powerful those rings were in the Shang-Chi movie, and that might not even be their full potential.

We Saw M.O.D.O.K.

The second “Ant-Man 3” trailer confirmed that Corey Stoll is playing M.O.D.O.K., and for the first time, we got a good look at the character, both masked and unmasked. We don’t know what role M.O.D.O.K. will play, but he is certainly an ally of Kang. It’s possible that he’s an advisor to the villain. Also, there are rumors that the character will play a major role in the upcoming “Captain America: New World Order” movie because he will be responsible for turning Thaddeus Ross into the Red Hulk.

Why Does Scott Want More Time?

The entire second trailer tells us that Ant-Man wants time, and Kang is the only one who can give it to him. But why is Scott so desperate for time? It’s because, during the five years of the blip caused by Thanos wiping away half of the universe, he missed out on time with his daughter. In the trailer, we see Cassie Lang in jail. So maybe Scott feels he has failed to be a good father to her. So maybe he wants a do over to correct his mistakes and ensure that his daughter doesn’t walk on the same path of crime as him. But as Janet warns in the trailer, Kang can reshape and shatter timelines, so making a deal with him isn’t the best idea because nothing is compelling him to hold down his end of the deal. So, will Scott get the time he wants with his daughter? Or will this be the end of the hero?

We will see it all unfold when “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” premieres on February 17, 2023.
