The recently released Spanish romantic comedy “Love at First Kiss” brings something new to the table. The protagonist of the movie, Javier (Àlvaro Cervantes Sorribas), realizes after kissing a girl for the first time at the age of sixteen that he has a unique gift that provides him with the ability to see the future instantly after he kisses girl. It is very strange and unique that every time he kisses a girl, he quickly gets to know how the relationship will proceed in the future, which makes him a romantic clairvoyant. 50 First Dates (2004)
If you’re a person who loves to watch movies that establish unique concepts, then you would definitely like director Peter Segal’s “50 First Dates.” It is a beautiful film that showcases Henry (Adam Sandler), a vet who falls in love with Lucy (Drew Barrymore), who suffers from amnesia due to an accident and doesn’t remember anything after the date of the accident. Lucy just wakes up every day, assumes it’s the same day and does similar things to what she did on the day of the accident. She doesn’t realize that years have passed. Henry understands her condition and decides to make her fall in love with him each day as Lucy forgets about Henry’s existence every time she wakes up. The concept of trying to make the same person fall in love every day is very heart-touching, and if you’re a fan of rom-coms, then you would definitely love this movie.
17 Again (2009)
Directed by Burr Steers, “17 Again” is a very entertaining romantic comedy with a different storyline. The movie focuses on Mike O’Donnell (Matthew Perry), a high school star basketball player with a very bright and promising future, who eventually gives up on basketball and decides to marry his girlfriend and raise their kids. Mike’s marriage fails after twenty years, and even his unimpressed kid thinks he is a loser. Interestingly, when Mike’s life hits rock bottom, he finds himself in a very absurd situation where he goes back in time to become a teenager. The story gets interesting as Mike tries to change the past in order to risk his present and future.
The Perfect Date (2019)
Noah Centineo starrer, “The Perfect Date,” is an amusing romantic comedy movie that focuses on a high school student who creates an app to offer a fake dating service to earn money for college. Brooks (Noah Centineo) goes on many dates as a chaperone, developing different personalities and dressing up according to the girls’ desires to make it a perfect date, but the situation gets complicated when he falls in love with Celia (Laura Marano) and tries to figure out what he wants to do with his life.
The Proposal (2009)
Directed by Anne Fletcher, “The Proposal” is a romantic comedy that focuses on Andrew (Ryan Reynolds), who works for an editorial company with a very normal and boring life that changes when his boss Margaret (Sandra Bullock), finds herself in a situation of deportation, asks Andrew to marry her in return for getting a promotion. Margaret visits Andrew’s hometown while pretending to be in a perfect relationship, which is actually fake, but soon the situation changes as they get closer to each other while pretending to be in love, and it completely changes the whole equation.
Love And Other Drugs (2010)
The Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway starrer “Love and Other Drugs” is a very enjoyable rom-com that focuses on a womanizer, a pharmaceutical sales representative named Jamie (Jake Gyllenhaal), who falls in love with Maggie (Anne Hathaway), a bright young girl suffering from an early onset Parkinson’s disease. As her career begins to soar, Maggie suffers from the disease, and Jamie being a womanizer, makes the whole situation complicated for her. However, their bonding shines brighter as they face all the challenges in life.
How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days (2003)
The basic storyline of “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” directed by Donald Petrie, is about a man named Benjamin (Matthew McConaughey), who is challenged by his co-workers to make Andie (Kate Hudson) fall in love with him. Andie, on the other hand, is writing an article on “how to lose a guy in 10 days.” She gets involved in a relationship with Benjamin and starts to do everything wrong so that she can lose him. The simple assignment, which was supposed to last ten days, turned into something beautiful that could last a lifetime.
10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
Gil Junger’s “10 Things I Hate About You” is one of those movies that can brighten up your mood if you’re having a bad day. The movie focuses on a young teenager, Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), who wants to date Bianca (Larisa Oleynik) but cannot succeed due to a strange stipulation given by her father that she is allowed to date someone when her sister Kat (Julia Stiles) finds someone to date. Due to the absurd situation, Cameron decides to pay a mysterious boy named Patrick (Heath Ledger) from the high school to date Kat so that his wish to date Bianca gets fulfilled.
