However, when a notorious drug lord named Gabriel Cortez (played by Eduardo Noriega) escapes FBI custody and makes a run for the Mexican border, Owens and his team are the only ones standing in his way. The film follows Tony Montana’s journey as he starts out as a low-level criminal and gradually starts building his empire by working with other drug lords and using violence to eliminate his rivals. Montana’s rise to power is fueled by his ambition, greed, and desire for wealth and status. As Montana becomes more powerful, he becomes increasingly paranoid and ruthless, alienating his friends and family and turning to drugs to cope with the pressures of his lifestyle. Despite mixed reviews upon its initial release, “Scarface” has become a cult classic and is widely regarded as one of the greatest crime films ever made.
American Made (2017)
In the film, Barry Seal is recruited by a CIA agent named Monty Schafer to fly a reconnaissance missions over Central America during the 1980s. Seal soon finds himself caught up in a web of drug smuggling and money laundering as he begins to work with the Medellin Cartel, led by Pablo Escobar. As Seal becomes more involved with the cartel, he also begins working with the Contras, a group of anti-communist rebels in Nicaragua supported by the CIA. Traffic (2000)
