The man, aged like a fine wine, never disappoints when it comes to portraying his iconic character, John Wick. With his sheer brilliance and absolute masterclass performances, he has managed to establish the John Wick saga as one of the most beloved movie franchises of all time. The John Wick franchise collected $573 million (global box office collection), which is remarkably good for an original action franchise. If you’re a fan of Keanu Reeves and also of action movies, then you just cannot miss John Wick: Chapter 4. In John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum, we witnessed John Wick go on a killing rampage as his life was up for grabs after he was announced to be an “Excomunicado” with a $14 million bounty on his head. When we last saw John Wick, he barely managed to stay alive and was taken to the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) by the Tick Tock Man (Jason Mantzoukas) after being betrayed by the High Table, getting multiple shots from Winston (Ian McShane), and falling off the roof of The Continental. The adjudicator (Asia Kate Dillon) realized John’s body was missing from the alley where he fell from the roof of the hotel and discussed with Winston that John could still be alive, which would definitely be a problem for them. Now that the final trailer for Chapter 4 has been launched and we have a release date to mark on our calendars, it will be very interesting to see what Keanu Reeves’ John Wick will do after being betrayed by the High Table.

John Wick: Chapter 4 was initially declared to be released on May 20, 2021, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Keanu Reeves’ commitment to the project of The Matrix Resurrection, the release was delayed, and now it’s clear that the theatrical release will be on March 24, 2023. Mark your calendars and remember the day because March 24 will be a very special day for action movie lovers and also for the hard-core Keanu Reeves fans.
Plot
The final trailer of John Wick: Chapter 4, released on February 16, 2023, clearly indicates that in this movie, we are going to see a bloodbath and a whole new level of madness as John seeks vengeance against the High Table. John is going to do everything to get his freedom. The path will not be easy for John Wick, as new enemies will emerge and will try to stop him in every possible way. With the Increasing prize for John’s head, the players who belong to the underworld from New York to Paris and Japan to Berlin will do everything to hunt down John Wick. In the final trailer, one of the most entertaining scenes was the last fight sequence, where the adorable sidekick dog interrupts the fight and attacks the enemy. The journey after becoming an “Excommunicado” has been a rollercoaster for John Wick, and now that he is going after the High Table, it will be a treat to watch how the one-man killing machine will approach the whole situation. After the parley between Winston and the adjudicator, John Wick has become a threat to them, so Winston offers John that he will get his freedom if he wins one-on-one, but that is very unlikely to happen as we all know it has always been one-versus-all for John Wick. Apparently, the plot seems very simple, but after the final trailer sheds light on the new characters and high-action sequences, we can anticipate that the movie will explore something new and fresh this time. The movie is going to be 2 hours and 49 minutes long, which is an ample amount of time to showcase some great action scenes and also showcase a typical John Wick killing spree while exploring the other aspects of the plot as well.
Cast
Chad Stahelski’s direction has been great for all three movies in the John Wick franchise, and for Chapter 4, fans are expecting nothing less. The cast of the movie is pretty amazing, as we can see some very interesting faces. Donnie Yen (Caine) has been cast for this movie, and he is definitely a fantastic choice, as we know how he helped bring martial arts into the mainstream, and we all have seen his credibility in films like the very famous “IP Man” film series. Another interesting new addition to the franchise is the very talented Hiroyuki Sanada (Shimazu). Hiroyuki is a Japanese actor very famous for acting in movies like “The Last Samurai,” “Mortal Kombat,” “Rush Hour 3,” and many more. Scott Adkins is also joining for Chapter 4 of John Wick, and he is a very capable actor and has been a part of films like “Avengement,” “Accident Man,” and the “Undisputed” film series. The Swedish actor Bill Skarsgard, who is famous for portraying the character of Pennywise in the movie “IT,” will be part of this film as well. The familiar faces are going to continue to portray their respective characters. Ian McShane as Winston, Asia Kate Dillon as the adjudicator, Laurence Fishburne as Bowery King, and Lance Reddick as Charon are the constants of the franchise. Keanu Reeves’ fight against Donnie Yen and Hiroyuki Sanada will definitely keep fans on the edge of their seats. Even imagining it’s going to be “IP Man vs. John Wick” will seem weirdly fascinating. The cast of John Wick: Chapter 4 is stunning, and as the trailer says, now freedom is a fight, so the expectations for this film are really high this time.
