Ramirez was a sex offender and serial killer who had no pattern of committing those heinous crimes but went on a crime spree that took place in California, USA, between June 1984 and August 1985. It was very hard for the investigators to even look for a pattern to catch Ramirez as he continued to commit those crimes in a very random order, leaving no such clue. The series focuses on how the investigators solve the puzzle pieces to get a breakthrough and eventually catch Ramirez. It is a unique experience for the viewers to watch this documentary because it focuses on the true unpredictability of the whole situation. The complexities of Ramirez’s thought process and the tension between the investigators are remarkably presented in this Netflix series. Conversations With A Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes
This Netflix series offers an interesting conversation with a charming serial killer who kidnapped, raped and murdered more than 30 young women during the 1970s. This series focuses on Bundy’s monologues and how he committed the crimes. The tapes are very intriguing and thrilling as they unravel how Bundy got the recognition as “Jack the Ripper of the United States.” Bundy was a devilishly handsome man who had a captivating smile that impressed the young women, but his distorted and twisted mentality made him a man who killed in the hope of fulfilling “an appetite.” Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning, very talented filmmaker and director Joe Berlinger did a formidable job of creating a series that took its source from hundreds of hours of interviews and archival footage of Ted Bundy, capturing the interviews with his family, friends, surviving victims, and the members of law enforcement who worked on his case.
House Of Secrets: The Burari Deaths
One of the most shocking and bone-chilling incidents took place in July 2018 at Delhi’s Burari Bazar, when a family of 11 members hung themselves to death. This incident is mysterious, shocking, and horrifying. The Netflix series “House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths” addresses the possible theories regarding the particular matter, the investigation, and why the family did such an unthinkable ritual. The family had members of different age groups, from an 80-year-old grandmother to teenage kids, but they were all found hanging from a mesh in their hallway ceiling, all tied together. Although it has been declared by the police that the mass suicides were motivated by shared delusion or psychosis, it’s still a mystery how people from different age groups can decide to participate in a ritual so absurd that it got the whole family killed.
Conversations With A Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes
If the concept of a “killer clown” fascinates you, then you must have heard the name of John Wayne Gacy. Gacy was a part-time clown who raped, tormented, tortured, and killed at least thirty-three young men and even young boys in a suburb of Chicago. This Netflix series, directed by very talented filmmaker Joe Berlinger, showcases the real conversations of a twisted serial killer who preys on the vulnerable. If you’ve watched the Netflix series “Dahmer,” then you must’ve noticed the scenes that shed light on the character of Gacy. This series, however, completely focuses on the notorious serial killer’s psychology and his confessions.
Capturing The killer nurse
Directed by Tim Travers Hawkins, “Capturing the Killer Nurse” is a chilling true crime documentary film about a serial killer named Charles Cullen and how the officers, after a lot of investigation, were able to prove Cullen was actually killing patients while working in hospitals and at a nursing home as a nurse in the United States. The “good nurse” is capable of killing hundreds of patients in the name of doing good, and justifying his heinous crimes by saying the murders were a way to end their suffering is horrific, and it can shake anyone to the core.
Don’t F**K With Cats: Hunting An Internet Killer
This unique Netflix documentary series focuses on a very interesting online manhunt. A Canadian pornographic actor, Luka Magnotta, shared a graphic video on the internet of himself killing two innocent kittens in a polythene bag and suffocating them with the help of a vacuum cleaner. This eventually led a group of internet sleuths to launch a manhunt as Magnotta gained international notoriety for sharing the gruesome video. Interestingly, Magnotta then gets convicted of murdering Chinese international student Jun Lin. The graphic video has not been shown in this documentary, but the overall treatment of the series is truly compelling.
The Raincoat Killer: Chasing A Predator In Korea
Masterfully directed by Rob Sixsmith, “The Raincoat Killer: Chasing a Predator in Korea” is based on the real-life events and incidents of a South Korean cold-blooded serial killer, sex offender, and a self-confessed cannibal named Yoo Young-Chul. Yoo mostly attacked prostitutes and rich women, and he addressed his motives by saying that women shouldn’t be prostitutes and that wealthy or rich people should know what they’ve done, perhaps to society. Although this series does showcase how Yoo wreaked havoc and bludgeoned his victims to death with a hammer, it also does a fair job of giving a voice to Yoo Young-chul’s victims.
